About this Item
Founded in 1980 by Mariano García in memory of his father, Bodegas Mauro is situated halfway along the River Duero, in the town of Tudela. Since the very beginning, Bodegas Mauro has been committed to excellence and producing age-worthy wines that express the quality and identity of their terroir. The property’s vineyards are spread across 90 hectares with an average vine age of 35 years and yields of between 3,000 – 5,000 kilograms per hectare. The grapes are grown on bush vines and planted on light, easy-to-work calcareous clay soils. The estate’s top-quality, limited-production reds are well known for their balance, elegance and long ageing potential.

Critics Ratings
‘The Terreus is pure Tinto Fino from a single vineyard of ancient vines, most likely over 100 years old. The 2008 Terreus has an intense, tightly coiled bouquet with blackberry, boysenberry, fresh fig and blueberry all with fine delineation and focus. The palate is medium-bodied with filigree tannins. The balance and poise are immediately noticeable, the texture silky smooth and focused with notes of black cherry and espresso lingering on the aftertaste. This is a classy wine, albeit one with a price. Drink 2013-2022.’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 94/100 (Oct 2012)
‘Glass-staining ruby. Sexy, intense aromas of raspberry liqueur, cherry-cola, incense and violet, with smoke and vanilla accents. Lush, seamless and broad on the palate, offering sweet red and dark berry flavors and accents of bitter cherry and vanilla. Dusty tannins add grip to the finish but fade into the fruit, which lingers persuasively. This wine drinks very nicely with a brief decanting.’ - Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 93/100 (Sept 2012)
