As a producer, Salvioni is an undisputed leader in the cult Brunello genre, along with the likes of Soldera and Biondi-Santi. Based in Montalcino, Salvioni owns one of the commune’s best and most well-recognised crus – ‘La Cerbaiola’ – in the southeast of Brunello di Montalcino. While only a mere 4-hectare plot of old, low-yielding vines, Giulio Salvioni and his strict standards produce one of the region’s greatest, most sought-after wines from this site. The winemaking is kept traditional and simple. Known for their incredible purity, elegance and long-ageing structure, Salvioni’s small-batch wines are a true triump for artisanal winemaking in the region.
