A pair of Japanese Imari chargers, Meiji period, 1868-1912 circular, each enamelled to the centre with a ribbon-tied flower-filled basket flanked by a pair of stylised dragons, enclosed by double blue-lines, the cavetto and border enamelled with alternating radiating cartouches enclosing flowerheads and dwellings before a riverscape, the reverse with flowerheads and bamboo, overall gilt highlights, iron-red mark of commendation, chip to one plate, 37,9cm diameter
