About this Item
Kaapzicht is a 4th generation family-owned wine estate, located in Stellenbosch. The name Kaapzicht means ‘Cape view’ and is attributed to the beautiful views of Table Mountain and Cape Town which are seen from the farm. The Steytler family has farmed the land since 1946 and today, brothers Danie and George own the 190-hectare estate. Located on the Bottelary hill, the farm experiences a mild climate with cool sea breezes and consists of old, weathered granite soils.

Critics Ratings
‘Top Cape example with innumerable awards, though mid-2008 05 seems yard wide of mark: textured and rich but still chewy, unforthcoming; needs time to settle, grow; contrast with 06, more accessible (despite 10% Cabernet stiffening); sappy, elegant and juicy, very well-handled chalky tannins. 100% new wood, 22-24 months.’ – Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2009, 4.5*
'Charming blackberry fruit on the nose, chocolate, black cherry and burnt coffee bean. Smooth tannins, ripe mouthfeel, juicy yet savoury with a leather-bound finish.’ – Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (Nov 2009)
