A Japanese ko-kutani iridescent yellow, brown and green enamelled dish, Edo period, 18th century
the centre enamelled with bunches of grapes and leaves against a yellow ground, enclosed by a diaper band, the border with four cartouches each enclosing a flowerhead and trailing foliage, further enclosed by a dark green foliate ground, the reverse with sprays of foliage against a green glaze highlighted in black, underglaze green seal mark, yellow-glazed base, rim chip, 23,5cm diameter
