A Chinese Export white and gilt tureen and cover, Qing Dynasty, 19th century
octagonal, the cover painted and enamelled with an armorial to either side linked by gilt and puce bands of foliage enclosed by a spearhead border, surmounted by a dog-of-fo finial, sienna-glazed rim, the body applied with a pair of hare mask handles, the front and back painted and enamelled with an armorial enclosed by spearhead borders, 34cm wide over handles
