Often described as the South African equivalent of a Grand Cru or First Growth, Kanonkop Estate is situated on the Simonsberg mountain slopes on the outskirts of Stellenbosch. Owned by the fourth generation Krige family, Abri Beeslaar is their long-term winemaker who has won International Winemaker of the year an incredible 3 times.
The Cabernet Sauvignon forms part of the 3-tiered, reds only fine offering under the Kanonkop label. Renowned for decades of ageing, Kanonkop’s Cabernet Sauvignon is austere when young and ages with grace.

If you not up to 1989 VGG, 1991 and future, magnificent 1994, the 1992 slots in ahead of recent 1990 VG and forthcoming 1993. These generally sturdy, deriving richness, power – rather than smooth elegance – from mature vines, couldn’t-be-simpler open tank-fermentation.
