About this Item
Boekenhoutskloof was established in 1776 and since it’s modern era makeover in 1993 it has been under the guidance of maverick spirit, Marc Kent. Unafraid to experiment with the unconventional, Marc is the chief winemaker and driving force behind the dynamic farm, co-founded by the similarly innovative late Tim Rands.
Critics Ratings
‘Glimpses of something special through powerful oak mantle (13 months, all-new French oak). 2008 showing finesse, subtle beeswax nuance and fine balance. This needs time.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2011, 4*
‘Rich but subtle, with a lovely creamy feel to the notes of lanolin, white peach, clementine, heather and chamomile. The long, stylish finish has nice depth in reserve for cellaring. One of the most distinctive whites from South Africa.’ - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Sept 2011)
‘A touch of struck match, even more so on the palate but just so promising and classy. Lots of lemon freshness, great depth and length and richness in a fine corset of acidity.’ - Julia Harding MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Oct 2012)
