Bordeaux style blend Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Cabernet Franc/Malbec (50/35/12/3). 97 tracks the pattern of Merlot above with tender sweet ripeness, dark cherry, some chocolates and spices before firm, dryish finish; notch up (and deeper colour) than pvs. Many of the remarks above apply here too. Vinification, 2-yr. oak regime virtually identical, as are broad stylistic results of (uncontrived) passion, care in v'yd/fruit selection. Same low, intense yields; expensive new Nevers cooperage.
