About this Item

2000 Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru
3 (1 x 3) 750ml

In 1880, a 22-year-old Joseph Drouhin settled in Beaune and founded his own wine company. His son Maurice succeeded him and established a domaine for the Drouhin house by buying land in outstanding appellations including the famous Clos des Mouches and Clos de Vougeot. Today, 4th generation Véronique Drouhin continues the family’s prestigious Burgundy legacy. With 73 hectares of biodynamically-farmed vines, Joseph Drouhin is one of Burgundy’s largest estates. With vineyards in close to 90 different appellations, Drouhin offers a fascinating array of Burgundy terroirs.

Critics Ratings

‘Rich, powerful and complex with a superbly spicy nose and warm, ripe, relatively rounded flavors and outstanding length. This is quite expressive for young Bonnes Mares and there is a beguiling freshness to the lively flavors. Direct and linear in style yet with much better than average density for the vintage.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 92/100 (2003)

‘A powerful wine with aromas of coffee, spice and smoked meats. With its huge rich red fruit flavors and dense sweet tannins, it manages to combine a sense of structure with piercing pure fruit. It will age well, and a corkscrew shouldn't even go near this bottle for another three to five years.’ - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 94/100 (Nov 2002)
