Gros Frère et Sœur Vosne-Romanée 1998
'Slightly reserved red fruit (cherry - fruit stronger with air), good spice, good minerality. Needs air. Good acidity. Lingering finish. Really enjoyable.' - Cellartracker.com, 91/100 (Jun 2016)
'Good deep colour, still shaded to cherry red. The nose is deep, black and spicy - just a little high tone akin to a redcurrant and raspberry mix, becomes quite blackberry then more raisined. The palate has plenty of drying tannin - slightly astringent at the end and a black aspect to fruit here too. Good length and acidity. This wine is super, but very, very young - I'd go for this ahead of the Grivot.' - Bill Nanson, Burgundy-Report.com (Jul 2004)
Bertagna Vougeot 1e Cru Clos de la Perrière Monopole 1998
'Stylish, sleek and well-made. Medium-bodied, firm and tannic, but with plenty of complex black fruit, raspberry, tar and smoke notes, and succulent acidity that seems natural and nicely integrated.' - Per-Henrik Mansson, Wine Spectator (Sept 2000)
