About this Item
After global travels and living in Japan for more than two decades, Hans-Peter Schröder relocated to Stellenbosch and bought the beautiful Oude Nektar farm in the Jonkershoek Valley in the late 1980s. He was later joined by son-in-law José Conde, a native of Kansas City, who took up the reins in the cellar with both passion and precision, unlocking the potential of the Jonkershoek terroir.

Critics Ratings
‘Range previously listed as ‘Twin Peak.’ From single vineyard, highest elevation on home-farm. Hedgerow fruit with cassis, gives wild edge, adds to individuality of 06; refined tannins accessible, reflect careful handling: unfined/filtered, as all reds. 22 months French oak, 70% new. TWS gold.’ – Platter’s SA Wine Guide, 4.5* (2009)
‘Focused, with a graphite undertow to the black currant, black cherry and fig notes. Licorice and coffee hints frame the finish. Should open up with modest cellaring.’ – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 90/100 (Dec 2008)
‘Rather more complex than the Twin Peak. Fills the palate and is in fact lip-smackingly good! There's still a little tannin here but with food it could delight already. Should develop well too.’ – Jancis Robinson, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Nov 2009)
