A Chinese Canton carved and pierced ivory brisé fan,Qing Dynasty, late 18th/early 19th century the upper register enclosing a monogram with the initials 'EJ', carved with figures at various pursuits before pavilions, the reverse similarly carved, the guard sticks carved with two figures before a balustrade observing a maiden below, with flowering sprays,18,5cm long
