About this Item
A 'LC4 chaise longue' designed 1928 by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret and Charlotte Perriand, Cassina 1970s
Notes
The design of this chaise drew inspiration from the Thonet bentwood rocker and was a collaboration between Charlotte Perriand and Pierre Jeanneret for Le Corbusier. It provides a modern take on the traditional rocker, through a structure that is a play between its two main components: the stationary base and an upper frame that glides back and forth to find the perfect position for the reclining body. A "machine for relaxation".
