Notes

After finishing his O- level, Mwangi pursued an art course at Buruburu Institute of Fine Arts- Nairobi, before joining Brush Tu Art Studio, where he currently works.
His work explores the big themes in life - in internal conflicts and drama around birth, identity, death, choices, relationships, feelings of numbness and fear. He approaches these themes through different mediums: painting, drawings and video, where by he shows torture/struggle on his figures using the wet cloth over the head in the water boarding and the decaying of the figures; A self-survival thing bringing a sense of uncertainty and that of being hunted. Lincoln has been exhibiting in Kenya and internationally. Recent exhibitions include 2019: A GLIMPSE OF EAST AFRICA - Lagos,Nigeria, 2020: ART INHIBITION - Gravitart gallery,Nairobi,Kenya, 2018: “AFRICA AND OTHER 54 COUNTRIES:FOCUS ON KENYA” - Alserkal Avenue,Dubai, 2018: PYENGA,Brush Tu art - Nairobi,Kenya
