‘Mid+ mahogany. A quiet nose with hints of ripe fruit, dried earth and liquorice. Slowly reveals more blackcurrant. A soft palate entry, with rich, fleshy cabernet elements of traditional Napa yet with blackberry, spices and pepper notes suggesting Syrah (of which there is a portion). Full-bodied, polished and ambitious with a well-integrated but generous alcohol. The finish, whilst long, yields to a sweet, somewhat syrupy texture like prune juice and damson jam. 'Aromas of cherry cola, chocolate, dark fruits, and fragrant oak jump from the glass. Firm, but very fine tannins on the palate with dark and blue fruits.
