Stellenbosch-based artist Katie Farringer has always painted and admits it has been her solace through difficult times. Studying Graphic Art at Stellenbosch University rather than Fine Art on the advice of her father was not a success and she went into the dramatic arts as a career. The straight lines in graphic design drove her crazy, but years later she has embraced a state of flow in her art which her paintings reflect. A recent successful solo show at IS Gallery introduced a wider audience to her work.
