About this Item
Azienda Agriciola Brovia is a family wine estate founded in 1863, and located within the Barolo DOCG of Piedmont. All production comes from estate vineyards, and the estate has some of the best holdings in the region, with vineyard plots across Castiglione Falletto (in the Rocche and Villero crus) and the Garblèt Sue section of Bricco Fiasco, and a fourth in the Ca'Mia vineyard in Serralunga d'Alba.

‘Commune of Serralunga. Just mid ruby with watery rim. Balsamic and herbal and firmly closed on the nose. Aromatic cherry fruit that is still to build a unity with the muscular tannins. Fantastic crude material. Long!’ - Walter Speller, JancisRobinson.com, 17.5/20 (Jun 2013)
‘This classically styled Barolo has hallmark Nebbiolo scents of rose, violet, spice, leather and forest floor. The creamy palate delivers wild cherry flavors, layered with spice, mint, licorice and eucalyptus notes. It's well balanced, fresh and structured. While it's already enjoyable, drink it after 2018 for more complexity.’ – Kerin O’Keefe, Wine Enthusiast, 94/100 (Sep 2013)
‘Bright red. Captivatingly fresh, primary aromas of raspberry, minerals and flowers are accented by a sappy note of blood orange; reminded me a bit of a topnotch Burgundy from Vosne or Chambolle. Sweet and thick but with lovely acidity giving the wine a strong impression of inner-mouth tension. A step up in density and fullness from the foregoing wines, with its Serralunga limestone pungency coming through loud and clear. Finishes very long and horizontal, with serious but well-buffered tannins and excellent menthol lift. Wonderfully elegant and perfumed Barolo from a south/southeast-facing vineyard that is spared the hottest afternoon sun.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 94+/100 (Nov 2013)
