Tucked into the foothills of the dramatic Riviersonderend mountain range just outside the town of Greyton is Lismore Estate Vineyards. Californian Samantha O'Keefe has found paradise and the perfect terroir in this valley, and single-handedly successfully pioneered a new ward classification for her wines in Greyton. Her passion and hard work combined with a philosophy of purity and site expression has established Lismore among one of the new jewels in the Cape Winelands.

Lismore was struck a severe blow in December last year when a runaway veld fire destroyed Sam's family home, the wine cellar (and most of the wine stock) as well as a large portion of the vineyards. All the proceeds of the Lismore lots on sale will go to the producer, in aid of rebuilding efforts - no buyers or sellers commission charged.

'With just 0.8 hectares in the ground, my only criticism of Sam O'Keefe's world class Viognier is that there isn't more of it. Located on a protected, south-facing slope, which contributes to the wine's freshness and vivacity, it's a voluptuous, peach and nectarine fruity wine with subtle oak and balancing acidity.
