Notes
The Finnish sterling silver 'Galactic Peaks' necklace was designed by Björn Weckström in 1969 for Lapponia. In 1969 Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon. The excitement and jubilation that followed led Björn Weckström to create his Space Silver collection which was launched in the same year. Significant pieces include for example the Planetoid Valleys and Galactic Peaks necklaces, the Mask of Gonda and Shuttle rings and the Bridge to the Moon bracelet, which are still a quintessential part of the Lapponia collection today. See Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia wearing the ''Planetoid Valleys'' necklace in Star Wars IV in 1977.
