Gerard De Leeuw was commissioned by Matthys Strydom to sculpt this portrait of his father, Manie Strydom. Two editions were cast, of which this one was owned by Professor Leon Strydom. The current owner bought it from The Professor Leon Strydom Collection auction by Strauss & Co in 2021.
