Critics Ratings

Pibarnon Bandol 2008
'This is an elegant and stylish wine that's full of lively acidity, red berry fruitiness and soft tannins. The wine is well integrated, with just a touch of gaminess and bright acidity on the finish. It is ready to drink.’- Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 92/100 (Mar 2014)

Pibarnon Bandol Rose 2016
‘Ripe and juicy, with lots of inviting blood orange, cherry, white raspberry and peach fruit flavors. Has the density, zip and cut to stay fresh. A food rosé.’ – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Oct 2017)

‘Brilliant orange-pink. Mineral-tinged red berry, citrus fruit and lavender aromas are complemented by a deeper nectarine quality. Sappy and seamless on the palate, offering juicy pit fruit and red berry flavors and a hint of blood orange. Smooths out and expands on the long, focused finish, which leaves a suave floral note behind.’- Josh Reynolds, Vinous, 91/100 (May 2017)

‘The wine is rich—a beautiful blend dominated by Bandol's own Mourvèdre. The grapes gives both structure and a perfumed character to this ripe full wine. With acidity and layers of red fruits, it is worth aging. Drink from 2018.’ – Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast, 93/100 (Jul 2017)

Pibarnon Nuances Rose 2015
Distinctive, as the late release has given this rosé a plumper, softer edge, but without sacrificing the intensity of the blood orange, cherry, peach and persimmon flavors. Still juicy in feel, with a long echo of tobacco through the finish. Drink now.’ – James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 92/100 (Oct 2017)

Vivid orange-pink. A wild, complex bouquet evokes ripe, mineral-tinged citrus fruits, red berries, nectarine and honey along with a powerful floral overtone. Stains the palate with tightly wound blood orange, strawberry and bitter quince flavors that unfold and deepen on the back half. The pit fruit note comes back strong on the strikingly long, seamless finish, which shows excellent clarity and strong on the strikingly long, seamless finish, which shows excellent clarity and strong mineral thrust. This fabulous pink Bandol is made from fruit grown in the estate’s highest and oldest vineyards.’ – Josh Raynolds, Vinous, 93/100 (May 2017)
