Nicolas Rasignol Volnay 1er Cru "Chevret" 2002
'A graceful red that's silky, harmonious and elegant, with a streak of cherry accented by floral and mineral flavors. A little tight now, but should open nicely in two to three years. Best from 2009 through 2020.' - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Jul 2007)
Vincent Girardin Chassagne-Monrachet 1st Cru Morgeot 2002
'Impressive. Supple, elegant and harmonious out of the gate, with fresh floral, peach and spice flavors. The oak is present yet integrated, with a mouthwatering structure and long finish.' - Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 91/100 (Sep 2004)
'Quite pinched and taut on the nose – not 100% open and clean. A strong green fruit character – solid and worthy without having a great lift. Greengages. Competent without being very exciting.' - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com, 16.5/20 (May 2004)
Jean Jacques Girard Savigny-Les-Beaune 2005
Bertrand Ambroise Nuits Saint Georges Vieilles Vignes 2006
‘The 2006 Nuits St.-Georges Vieilles Vignes offers alluring aromas and deep, sweet ripeness of black raspberry and cassis, wreathed in smoke and underlain with crushed stone. Palpably dense and with quite fine-grained tannin, it finishes with clean, vibrant fruit that is admirably transparent to fascinating mineral and raw carnal nuances, and unencumbered by any overt oakiness. It should have 6-8 year potential.’ - David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Dec 2009)
‘A rich, suave version, exuding sweet black cherry and mineral flavors allied to a bed of dense, grainy tannins. This is balanced, but just needs time to integrate. Best from 2011 through 2018.’ – Bruce Sanderson, Wine Spectator, 89/100 (May 2009)
Hubert Chavy Puligny-Monrachet Les Enseigneres 2007
'Slightly golden, shiny, the nose is clean, expressive, with initially slightly toasted aromas which, after good aeration, give way to pure fruity aromas (white peaches and pears) accompanied by notes of honey and 'citrus. The mouth is velvety, the wine develops with ascending sensations, a well-formed flesh, structured with elegance, enhanced by expressive fruits well highlighted by a good quality acidity. The finish is persistent, stretched, rather tight, fruity (dominating vine peach), saline and very slightly liquorice. - 16.5/20 (Aug 2011)
Henri Gouges Nuits-St-Georges 2011
'Good bright, deep red, Strong animal reduction along with black and red fruits on the nose. Silky and supple for a Nuit villages owing to ripe acidity, with a lovely restrained sweetness to its dark fruit flavors. Finishes with suave tannins and a good breadth and length. Very nicely balanced.' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous (Jan 2013)
des Malandes Chablis Grand Cru Vaudesir 2012
'Creamy, rich, sweet fruit. Not much minerality – especially for grand cru – though the fruit is suitably bold.' - Richard Hemming MW, JancisRobinson.com, 17/20 (Jan 2104)
de Villaine Bourgogne Cote Chalonnaise Les Clous Aime 2014
'A potent asparagus and pear scented bouquet, a touch of toffee apple in the background. The palate is fresh on the entry with a slightly waxy texture, very distinctive. The finish reminds me of Goisot in Saint-Brise. Excellent.' - Neal Martin, Vinous, 89/100 (Mar 2018)
