About this Item

Clos Saint-Denis, 2016
1 (1 x 1) 750ml

Domaine Dujac was established in 1967 by Jacques Seysses when he purchased Domaine Marcel Graillet, a poor estate of only 4.5 hectares, and renamed it Domaine du Jacques. Overtime, the name evolved into Domaine Dujac – a playful moniker. Today, they hold around 14.5 hectares and cultivate 18.5 hectares in total. Buying parcels as they became available, the domaine expanded over the years and now owns some of the most exceptional holdings, including the Grands Crus of Echézeaux, Bonnes-Mares, Clos Saint Denis, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Charmes-Chambertin and Clos de la Roche. Aiming for elegance, finesse and complexity, the quality of their seven Grands Crus is a testament to the domaine being one of the Burgundy’s leading producers.

Critics Ratings

‘Dark crimson. Sumptuous with an appetising edge. Much less thick than Clos de la Roche. Really glorious. Dense and dry on the end but not remotely drying. Light mintiness on the end. Soaring. So persistent.’ - Jancis Robinson MW, JancisRobinson.com. 18.5/20 (Dec 2017)

‘The 2016 Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru has a superior bouquet to the Clos de la Roche, with ebullient raspberry and wild strawberry fruit, quite floral in style with orange blossom scents developing in the glass. There is an underlying sense of terroir, but it feels very discrete at the moment. The palate is medium-bodied with fine delineation, harmonious and fresh with a long, tender, noble finish that is pulled out of the top drawer. This is a potentially awesome Clos-Saint-Denis that has a very bright future, one that might surpass the excellent 2015.’ - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 95-97/100 (Dec 2017)
