Painted circa 1954-56, Balinese Girl (estimate R5 – 7 million/ $278 520 – $390 000) derives from Tretchikoff’s classic period, when he originated such iconic works as Chinese Girl (1952) and Lady from Orient(1955).

Pangolins have been on the planet for 80 million years. They survived a mass extinction, 66 million years ago, when an asteroid collided with Earth, wiping out 75% of earth’s animals, including non-bird dinosaurs.
