A set of five Chinese famille-rose plates, Qianlong (1735-1796)
the centre painted with a maiden, her attendants and a small boy before a pavilion and mountainous landscape, the rim with shield-shaped border joined with sprays of flowers, cell-diaper border and gilt rim, fritting chips and hairline cracks, 23cm diameter; and another, painted with a seated maiden, a small boy to her right, each figure holding a bloom, before a building and balustrade garden, enclosed by a cell-diaper border, divided by medallions painted in iron-red, with gilt rim, firing faults, 22,5cm diameter
