A Chinese famille-rose brass-mounted vase, Qing Dynasty, 19th century
of baluster outline, the shoulders applied with gilt lion-mask-and-ring handles, the front and reverse painted with panels of courtiers at various pursuits, enclosed by scroll, butterfly and peonies against a gilt ground, the neck similarly decorated, the top with indented fitted brass cover, raised on a pierced base with four scroll feet, 44cm high
