About this Item

Portrait of an English Officer
oil on canvas
75 by 55cm, oval

Notes

The medals are from The Sudan in 1882-89, possibly Camel corps.   The clasp appears to be one for Tel-el-Kabir, which was fought during the 2nd Anglo Egyptian War.   All who took part were also awarded the Khedive of Egypt's Star, the bronze medal on the right.
