About this Item

Gevrey Chambertin 1er Cru Aux Combottes, 2007 - 2010
5 (5 x 1) 750ml

Domaine Dujac was established in 1967 by Jacques Seysses when he purchased Domaine Marcel Graillet, a poor estate of only 4.5 hectares, and renamed it Domaine du Jacques. Overtime, the name evolved into Domaine Dujac – a playful moniker. Today, they hold around 14.5 hectares and cultivate 18.5 hectares in total. Buying parcels as they became available, the domaine expanded over the years and now owns some of the most exceptional holdings, including the Grands Crus of Echézeaux, Bonnes-Mares, Clos Saint Denis, Romanée-Saint-Vivant, Charmes-Chambertin and Clos de la Roche. Aiming for elegance, finesse and complexity, the quality of their seven Grands Crus is a testament to the domaine being one of the Burgundy’s leading producers.

Critics Ratings

2007

‘Palish red. Cherry, red berries, rose petal, spices and a peppery nuance on the nose. Sweet, dense and medium-bodied, with concentrated flavors of red fruits and spices nicely perked up by dusty minerality. Finishes with sweet tannins and lovely length. Showing some oak spice today.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 90/100 (Mar 2010)

2008

‘A very stylish and ultra fresh nose offers up classy if restrained red pinot fruit liberally laced with notes of stone and rose petal, both of which can be found on the detailed, pure and lacy middle weight flavors that are complex, focused, mouth coating, crisp and solidly persistent. I like the balance and punch. Drink 2020+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 92/100 (Jan 2011)

2009

‘A fresh though very reserved nose that is airy, cool and admirably pure offers up plenty of floral notes along with the muted red berry fruit. The mineral-infused, tight and beautifully well-detailed middle weight flavors possess a lovely serenity on the harmonious, long, balanced and linear finish. This is exquisite and fashioned in an understated style. Drink 2019+.’ – Allen Meadows, Burghound.com, 90-93/100 (Jan 2011)

2010

‘Medium red, a bit less saturated than the Chambolle villages. Ethereal high-pitched perfume of orange peel and sexy oak spices. At once dense and juicy, thick but weightless, with a seamless texture and flavors of red fruits and anise. Finishes very long and suavely tannic. These vines are situated at the Clos de la Roche side of the vineyard.’ – Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 91+/100 (Mar 2013)
