A Chinese famille-rose dish, Qing Dynasty, Qianlong period, 1736-1795 oval, the centre enamelled with a pair of peacocks perched on a rocky outcrop amongst tufts of grass, with sprays of peonies and blooms issuing from a further outcrop, enclosed by a spearhead cavetto, the border with four sprays of blooms below four cartouches enclosing a pair of stylised chilong interspersed with a diaper ground, sienna-glazed rim, 26,8cm wide
