Richard Kershaw was a successful chef in the UK before working as a cellar-hand in California, Chile, France, Germany and Hungary. He relocated to South Africa in 1999 and is currently one of only ten Masters of Wine who actively produce their own wine. Focusing on cool climate, site-specific, clonally-selected wines, this was his debut vintage, which achieved Platter’s 5 stars, 95/100 Tim Atkin, 94/100 Jamie Goode, and ‘Outstanding’ in Decanter magazine’s survey of the World’s Best Chardonnays outside Burgundy. Richard Kershaw is considered one of South Africa’s finest Chardonnay producers and most knowledgeable winemakers.
‘Refined understatement in stellar 2012, reflecting minimal but careful crafting, allowing fine acidity, minerality & judicious oak to perfectly frame & support citrus & white peach fruit. Precise & classy. Delicious now & for many years.’ Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2014, 5 stars
