A Boer War silver-mounted cowrie shell snuff box with Swiss marks for 1882 - 1934 the shell set to a silver zig-zag border, the hinged base engraved 'Gedachtenis H. G. Laubschagnie van India, 3799, 0.935' with a stippled border and foliate engraving, 5,3cm long
Provenance
Hendrik Gerhardus Labuschagne was prisoner number 22931 in the prisoner of war camp in India, Shahjahanpur. He was captured at Ospoort on 30 August 1901.
