A Chinese yellow ground bottle vase, late Republic period the compressed globular body enamelled with four iron-red bats amongst peaches, peonies, lilies, Buddhist emblems and scrolling foliage against a yellow ground above a ruyi lappet border, the shoulders with blue-line Greek key fret borders, the tapering neck with flared rim similarly decorated, gilt rim, raised on a circular foot, underglaze-blue six-character mark within a double blue-line border, apocryphal Yongzheng mark, 29,2cm high
