I see the suit as such an odd thing. It is a kind of signal to whoever looks at the person, the suit. I am a businessman it says, you will take me seriously; you are not in a suit therefore I will not take you seriously. It is also an armour. I had a temptation - which I am sure I will not give in to - to make a painting where in one half you see the businessman in his suit and in the other half you see him in his underpants or bathing costume looking flabby and naked against this suit of armour.' - Robert Hodgins
