About this Item
Boekenhoutskloof was established in 1776 and since it’s modern era makeover in 1993 it has been under the guidance of maverick spirit, Marc Kent. Unafraid to experiment with the unconventional, Marc is the chief winemaker and driving force behind the dynamic farm, co-founded by the similarly innovative late Tim Rands.
Made from selected parcels of Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon vineyards planted on the north-western facing slopes of the Helderberg mountain and south-eastern facing slope of the Polkadraai Hills.
Critics Ratings
‘Sleek, supple and structured 2014, also with a dash of Cabernet Franc, all Helderberg fruit. Elegant, with cocoa-tinged blue and black fruit. Lighter, leaner, less muscular and dense than the Franschhoek version. Oak (60% new) a spicy, nutty presence. Great persistence.’ - Platter’s SA Wine Guide 2017, 4.5*
‘A first release of a Stellenbosch Cabernet Sauvignon from Boekenhoutskloof, sourced from four parcels on the Helderberg, all of them planted with new, unvirused clones. Rich, complex and well balanced, this is a very stylish debut, showing subtle spices, pure blackberry fruit and impressive focus.’ - Tim Atkin SA Special Report 2016, 94/100
