A tortoiseshell and metal-mounted magnifying glass, late 18th/early 19th century
oval, the sides applied with three foliate clasps, one hinged side enclosing a magnifying glass, 8,5cm long; an Edwardian tortoiseshell covered canister, cylindrical, 10,5cm diameter; and a faux tortoiseshell and metal inlaid sewing box, rectangular, the hinged cover inlaid with a vacant cartouche, enclosing a blue velvet-lined detachable compartment fitted with a George V silver thimble, Charles May, London, 1920, a needle-case, a darning needle, a bodkin and sewing stiletto, distressed, 12cm wide
