the rectangular hinged cover inlaid with a cartouche inscribed 'HA Pretorius Ceylon 1902.', the sides similarly inlaid, raised on a plinth base, chips, 11,6cm high, 23,4cm wide, 14,2cm deep
Provenance
HA Pretorius refers to either Hercules Albertus Pretorius Junior or Senior. Both where captured at Henopsrivier on 2-10-1900 and were interned at Diyatalawa camp. Their prisoner numbers were 13372 and 13371 respectively.
