the hinged rectangular top enclosing a fixed compartment with aperture, the exterior and inside front inlaid with stinkwood bands, on a moulded base, the inside of the top inscribed in pencil Pieter Johanes Volkwyn is de maaker gemaak op din eerstin diezember 1886, and the name Daan Willem Gericke, lacking lock-plate, 17cm high, 38,5cm wide, 19,5cm deep
