About this Item
Coteaux du Layon 1997
3 (1 x 3) 750ml
Moulin Touchais, established in 1787, may possibly have the largest collection of vintage wines in the world; holding 2 million bottles dating back to the mid-19th century. With 15kms of underground tunnels in the Coteaux du Layon, they keep each vintage for 10 years before release. These long-ageing late harvest Chenin Blancs from schistous soils really need 2 decades to show their best and, remarkably, are guaranteed a century of life.

Critics Ratings
'Shows the power and depth of this great vintage, with a core of still-youthful mango, guava and creamed peach flavors streaming along, backed by light heather, honeysuckle and quince notes. The long finish is creamy and pure, displaying a lovely lining of brioche and lemon curd. Drink now through 2037.' - James Molesworth Winespectator.com 95/100 (2016)
