A French alabaster and gilt-metal-mounted mantel clock, late 19th century
the 8cm enamel circular dial with Roman numerals, pierced blued steel hands, with visible front skeletonised movement and anchor escapement, the back plate engraved 'BVT SCGD, P.D Paris 591', the pendulum in the form of a cherub on a swing, the drum case surmounted by a shallow two-handled urn, the side supports applied with leaf-and-berry motifs, the rectangular base on acanthus-leaf and scroll front feet, the reverse on alabaster toupie feet, 31cm high, 20,5cm wide, with ebonized plinth and glass dome, the dome damaged and repaired,40cm high
