Ataraxia Under the Gavel Chardonnay stands apart for its single-vineyard Hemel-en-Aarde Ridge origin and unconventional “black” (hyper-oxidative) winemaking approach. Crafted exclusively for the Cape Winemakers Guild Auction, it is spontaneously fermented without malolactic fermentation or bâtonnage, preserving crystalline minerality, vibrant natural acidity and remarkable precision. A Chardonnay of purity, tension and terroir expression, with exceptional ageing potential.

Tasting Notes: An assured expression of Ataraxia’s terroir, this wine reveals layers of citrus blossom and lemon curd that unfold over subtle oak spice. The palate is defined by saline minerality and taut acidity, culminating in a long, precise finish of remarkable finesse.

Ready for drinking now until at least 2035.
