A single barrel selection from a 39-year-old Chenin Blanc vineyard on the lower slopes of the Helderberg Mountain, 8 kilometres from the sea, this wine is made from low-yielding vines producing just 4 tons per hectare, resulting in a rich, concentrated wine of distinction. The grapes are pressed by hand in a traditional basket press and naturally yeast fermented in a neutral 400 litre barrel. The wine is bottled unfiltered.

Tasting Notes: The wine shows a light-yellow colour, with a rich nose of lemon skin, dried apricot and honey, lifted by notes of nuts and spices such as nutmeg. The palate is complex and dense, showing nutty, lemon skin and apricot flavours, leading to a long, dry, nutty finish.

Ready for drinking now to 2032.
