Vin de Constance 2013
Sweets
About the SessionA rich offering of vintage wines that have stood the test of time. Wine Specialist, Higgo Jacobs comments “These categories have strong historical ties with South Africa's wine industry, and they remain underrated in terms of bandwidth and prices, while consistently over-delivering on quality.”

Critics Ratings
'It has a beautiful bouquet with honey, quince, pressed yellow flowers and Mirabelle. It has wonderful definition and purity. The palate is very well balanced with a mellifluous texture and beautifully judged acidity as it just sashays along. It fans out on the finish with honey, quince, a touch of rhubarb and ginger, extraordinarily persistent in the mouth.' - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 96/100 (Apr 2017)
'Matt Day's second vintage in charge of this iconic sweet wine marks an evolution in style, with the addition of essencia and slightly less alcohol and residual sugar (172 grams). It's another lovely VDC, showing favours of tarte tatin, orange marmalade, baking spices and subtle oak ageing. Drink: 2017-30' - Tim Atkin MW, SA Special Report 2016, 95/100
'Bright light-medium gold. High-toned scents of orange marmalade, dried apricot, piercing herbs, spices, honey and marzipan. Viscous and thick, with just enough acidity to maintain its shape and energy. Supersweet dried apricot and honey flavors dominate Finishes with a bittersweet citrus edge, a suggestion of golden raisin and palate-staining length. Wonderfully concentrated, silky wine with energy.' - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous, 94/100 (Mar 2017)
