Critics Ratings
“Plenty of dark toast, braised fig and cocoa powder notes backed by a solid core of currant paste and plum sauce. The long, velvety finish has lots of power, but the tannins are fine-grained and thoroughly embedded. Terrific acidity is buried deep as well. An impressive combination of power, balance and elegance.” - James Molesworth, Wine Spectator, 94/100 (Mar 2009)
“A rounded, exotic bouquet with Napa-like Merlot character, boysenberry and broom/white fennel. The palate is chewy on the entry but there is satisfactory fruit moving into secondary characteristics of melted tar and leather, the finish more Bordeaux-like than expected. Aging nicely.” - Neal Martin, Wine Advocate, 90/100 (Nov 2015)
