‘Very pale red with a slight orange colour. Smells of really tart red fruit – rosehip and a touch of spiced orange and perhaps slightly bloody. Lightweight, super-fresh, dry and still juicy. It has the grip of a wiry but strong hand. Lovely, mouth-watering finish and so much more to come. Finishes with a long, sour-cherry aftertaste. ‘This is one of the entry-level ranges from this top producer. The wine is sophisticated. It has a strong mineral texture and fine ripe citrus and pear fruits shot through with acidity. ‘Tasted blind. Quite complex (not a common descriptor in this tasting of Loire Sauvignons) and evolved on the nose. Broad and a little low on acidity though clearly very ambitious and interesting.
