‘From Piekenierskloof grapes. The nose shows a little reduction before lemon, naartjie, stone fruit, cut apple and a little nuttiness. Rich and broad with seemingly quite moderate acidity, round without being too leesy, this is a more generous vintage than usual.’ - Christian Eedes, Winemag.co.za, 92/100 (Jul 2020)
‘The 2019 Grenache Blanc comes from high-altitude vines in the Piekenierskloof region, matured in concrete eggs and amphorae. It has an understated nose of wax resin, grilled walnut and a touch of smoke, becoming oilier and nuttier with time. The palate is well balanced, fresh and quite saline, delivering a fine bead of acidity and a texturally satisfying, peppery finish that lingers. This really shows what the variety can do in the right hands. 2022-2036’ - Neal Martin, Vinous, 92/100 (Oct 2020)
