Notes

Kelsey Beukman is a ceramic artist based in Cape Town who explores the rhythms of life, relationships and nature through her artistic practice. Having started ceramics as a tangible way of exploring her evolving identity after becoming a mother, Beukman's work has developed into a practice that blends tapestry and ceramic elements. Her intuitively-stitched compositions speak to the imperfect process of transformation, of healing, and of the continuity of personal and collective history.

‘Aggie’s Garden’ is an emotional landscape that reflects on a state on contemplation. There is tension between softness and solidarity, where endurance, attachment and the celebration of life is quietly meditated upon.
