The Alma is one of Louis Vuitton’s most recognisable handbag designs, introduced in the 1930s and reputedly commissioned by Coco Chanel. Its structured silhouette, with clean lines and a gently rounded dome, reflects the Art Deco aesthetic of the period. Over the decades, it has remained a house staple, continually reimagined while retaining its unmistakable form. Here rendered in glossy Monogram Vernis leather, the bag appears in Amarante, a deep aubergine shade that reveals subtle undertones in changing light. The high-shine finish accentuates the embossed monogram pattern, while polished hardware and dual top handles lend classic refinement.
