About this Item
This wine has been checked and re-corked by Amorim, under the protection of an argon gas blanket, with each opened bottle being topped up with reserve wine from the same vintage, recorked, and resealed. This was done under the supervision of a technical team from Amorim Corks and Strauss & Co Fine wine Specialists Higgo Jacobs and Roland Peens, assuring provenance, quality and long life. The Seal Code on the neck of the bottle can be traced on Amorim Recorking Directory

Critics Ratings
'Produced from an old BK 5 Clone, the light yet brightly coloured 1986 has held up beautifully and a fine example of mature pinot noir. Fine, delicate fruit is underscored by a gamey, savoury edge and fresh structure. Fresh and layered, the red berries dance on the palate to an earthy, graceful and well-balanced finish. Peter Finlayson was Diners Club Winemaker of the Year Awarded for the Hamilton Russell Pinot Noir 1986. Delicious at this mature stage, it will keep for another decade.' - Roland Peens 94/100, (July 2025)
