Notes
Nico Verboom was born in Leiden, Holland in 1927 and studied art and art education in the Netherlands before immigrating to South Africa in 1951. A skilled sculptor and muralist, his notable commissions include sculpted murals for Nedbank in Cape Town and the First City Bank of New York. He has exhibited extensively throughout the Cape region and his work is represented in the collections of the South African National Gallery and the Van der Stel Foundation.
